2014 “We Love Vinings” Cards

Breaking out of the 2014 winter doldrums will be festive for Vinings Jubilee patrons and new customers with Partner Cards from Vinings Village Woman’s Club. The $25.00 card offers a 20% discount on purchases from 65 Vinings merchants including 20 Vinings Jubilee businesses. The discount cards are valid for a limited time, February 21 - March 2, 2014. Vinings Village Woman’s Club Presents Awards

The Vinings Village Woman’s Club presented $13,000 to local groups recently. Co-presidents Margaret Bramwell and Sandy Christian presented the awards at the club’s May luncheon at the Vinings Club. A $6,200 award to the club’s Vinings Beautification Committee provided landscape design and maintenance for Vinings public areas.  Several local groups shared $6,800 in awards. Vinings Village HOA Initiates Community Planning Effort

Through four decades, the Vinings Village Homeowners Association has faced a variety of challenges from zoning to traffic and from over-commercialization to historical preservation. The management of these challenges has been as diverse as the times in which they appeared.

Today, the VVHA partners with Cobb County Board of Commissioner and staff in bringing solutions to issues through cooperative problem solving. The VVHA represents Vinings Village homeowners in achieving what individual homeowners could not accomplish alone.

Recently the VVHA has collaborated with Cobb County Commissioners and staff to officially map "Vinings Village" boundaries and negotiate inclusion in the Cobb County Comprehensive plan ... Read Full Story


Local Vinings Author’s Book Sale Benefits VHPS

Many of you may know Mr. Marion Blackwell, a native of Atlanta and a long time resident of Vinings. Mr. Blackwell has written many essays and stories for Georgia Backroads, The AJC, The Landmarker, Friends Journal and Loftlife and he is an avid historian and supporter of VHPS. Marion has published his first book and we are very proud to have the book on sale at the Vinings Historic Preservation Center! His book is a fascinating cross section of short stories about the Civil War, Atlanta area history, his passion for hiking, his long real estate career, and other topics. There is something for everyone in this book!

VHPS Announces the Annual Ice Cream Social!

Join the Vinings Historic Preservation Society as they salute "National Ice Cream Day". On Sunday, July 17th come to the Old Pavilion on Paces Mill Road for the VHPS's Annual Ice Cream Social. This event is sponsored by Coldstone Creamery and will take place from 1:00-3:00pm. If you are a member of the VHPS your admission will be free, for anyone 12 years or older admission will be $4.00.

In addition to the delicious ice cream and toppings donated by Coldstone Creamery, attendees will also enjoy: Vinings Rotary's fresh popped popcorn, face painting, Fidelity Bank's home baked cookies, and a meet and greet with the Vinings Fire Station firefighters

6th Annual Vinings Golf Classic

The 6th Annual Vinings Golf Classic and pairings party took place the weekend of April 30, 2011. Many thanks to our sponsors, players and volunteers for making the 6th Annual Vinings Golf Classic a complete success! The pairings party took place in Vinings Jubilee at SOHO restaurant. Frank and Susan Smith, Chef Joey and the crew at SOHO did a fantastic job hosting us. Our auctioneer, Bill Borden did a masterful job presenting the live auction to our guests. The silent auction items sold like hot cakes. The weather was perfect at our golf tournament. The golfers showed up bright and early to play for a purpose and compete for bragging rights. Expo Promotes Business in Vinings

The Second Annual Vinings Business Expo attracted almost 600 people to the Courtyard Marriott in Vinings on Tuesday, April 19.

Many of the visitors came to network with the 30 Vinings-area businesses represented at the expo including Sprint, Gas South, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Vinings Jubilee, Cobb News and Views and First Citizens Bank.

“We want to give the businesses that exhibit in the expo an opportunity to grow their business and make new contacts in Vinings,” said Glenn Christian, Vinings Business Association president.
