“Vinings Jubilee named Business of Year” – Neighbor Newspaper

The Vinings Business Association Tuesday honored one of the community’s staples with its 2011 Vinings Business of the Year award. The Vinings Jubilee, a shopping center which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, won the accolade for its positive impact on the area, the organization announced at its monthly meeting at Social Vinings restaurant. It won over four other nominees: Cobb County Public Safety/Vinings, First Citizens Bank’s Cumberland Boulevard branch, Social Vinings and the Vinings Historic Preservation Society. “I was not expecting this. “Vinings Jubilee Lifestyle Center Celebrates 25 Years”- The Marietta Daily Journal

The community nestled between a river and a railroad may not have its own City Hall, but it has Vinings Jubilee. Billed as Atlanta’s first lifestyle center, the retail and restaurant destination was founded by Vinings resident Felix Cochran, no relation to this writer, 25 years ago. The late Cochran researched the archives of what is now the Atlanta History Center to create the atmosphere of the old South in a community founded in 1838 by the Pace family. “We added to his first vision,” said Mike Hammer, president of Vinings Jubilee developer, owner and manager Paces Holdings. “He had a good idea in 1986.” The pedestrian-friendly ... “Celebrations at Vinings Jubilee” – Smyrna Patch

Vinings Jubilee turns 25 this year and is adding a new stage, a new store and a new look to celebrate.
A new Tower Stage has been in construction for weeks and is almost complete. It still needs a roof and a Vinings Jubilee representative told Patch that it should be completed within the month.
Vinings Jubilee will use the stage to host concerts and other events for shoppers, including festivities for its October birthday party, and of course, the annual Christmas tree lighting in December.
